The Rough Guide to Latin-Arabia recently released on the World Music Network label : Welcome to musical combinations from Havana nights and Arabian knights…care to dance? Flamenco, rumba, salsa, belly? After listening to this album, I think that Arabic and Latin music go together like beans and rice, creating an enchanting mid-munch. Check out the track/artist notes, there are some interesting stories…and these are some of my favorite tracks:
#1. Nubian Mambo!
#2. Sounds of Columbian Cumbia with Arabic vocals.
#3. Rebellious Raj music from Algeria.
#7. Electric violin led hybrid of Middle Eastern Cumbia!

Sally Nyolo & the original bands of Yaounde
Studio Cameroon: Sally left Cameroon for Paris when she was 13, where she developed her singing career. Since joining the vocal group, Zap Mama she has released at least 3 solo albums. Sally moved home to collaborate with local artists in Yaounde. The outcome is an array of beautiful sounds contained on Studio Cameroon. When polyrhythmic is the name of the game, it matters not what you choose…you shan’t loose! All tracks are play-worthy and all are quite polyrhythmic with the exception of three; tracks 11, 12, and 13 have subdued rhythms, comparatively.
