Vieux Farka Toure remixed:UFO’s Over Bamako
: To follow up his early 2007 debut album, Vieux Farka Toure’s N. African Sahara Desert blues sound has been re-mixed into electric rhythms by re-mixers like Cheb I Sabbah. Songs are said to pay homage to his late father, Ali Farka Toure (who appears on a couple of these tracks). The concept of UFO’s Over Bamako, is to create an international dance floor and by doing so, songs’ rhythms are repetitious and contain elements of electro-jazz.

Listening to this woman sing, I feel the vibration of her vocal resonance inside my chest. Where is soul without the love? Paula Fuga brings it right to you in a sweet jar of jams called Lilikoi. The songs are about love and she sings them with power. Musically, the sound sometimes has a reggae rhythm but it’s hard to focus on anything outside of THAT VOICE!
