ready for some excellent new music?

[+/-] show/hide

feeling super-stoked on this sun shiny day, i am pleased to present the WFHB library with two great albums...

Juba Dance makes Orange.

Review: South Chicago born-Brazil based Benjamin Lamar, composes as Juba Dance with producer, Will Freyman. Together they make music in the likes of, “spaced-out electro, hip-hop & funk rooted in the traditions of blues and jazz, w/ influences from Brazilian, Jamaican, & Afro-Cuban rhythms.” (You’ll also find some Classical bites). This release is truly an eclectic and conscious engagement, as unique as words found that rhyme with orange.

comments / tracks of interest: (just because I didn’t note them, doesn’t mean their not note-worthy).
#1: witty lyrics, smooth delivery
*#2: deep beats
#3: begins w/ jump rope rhymes, hip-hop
*#9: globally conscious lyrics w/ a spring theme
#11: groovy sweet, somewhat reminiscent of a modern Prince’s Dian.
#13: soft like a gentle rainstorm; piano, horns, strings…all that is missing is the gentle roll of distant thunder.

Tango!
Since it’s birth in the slums of Buenos Aires in 1880, tango has evolved into a high-class social scene. Tango lovers? You’ll be excited to add these tracks into your mixes. Here are songs from various artists of classical re-interruptions and modern electro-tango rhythms. “Think Global” has collaborated this production w/ Oxfam, and sales from Tango will be donated toward Oxfam’s humanitarian work. “To understand and enjoy Tango, prepare to experience a roller coaster of emotions from passion, desire & elation, to desperation, solitude, and despair.”
