Africa, World Circuit, and Turkish Pop music today
Dobet Gnahore 'sNa Africa
Known for acting as an acrobat on stage, Dobet captivates audiences with her soulful voice and whirlwind of dance styles. Dobet was born and raised on an artist’s colony in the Ivory Coast. In 1999 Dobet, with her husband and child, moved to France to escape a dangerous environment of social & political turmoil. In Europe, Dobet developed her career and has since performed with Habib Kiote, Vusi Mahlasela, and on Putumayo’s acoustic tour. Na Africa is Dobet’s personal vision of Africa today. As she sings in a variety of African languages, she sings out about social & political issues. The sleeve shows English & French translations of lyrics. “Her use of rhythm & style reflect her unique pan-African approach to music.”-cumbancha

World Circuit presents…
The best from the best. World Circuit has compiled a fine selection of music for you as they celebrate 20 years of recording artists. “The album sheds light on lesser known aspects of World Circuit's output. Digging deep into their vaults, they've uncovered half-forgotten masterpieces and previously unheard live performances, great songs from long-unavailable albums and material from 'pending projects'. From the Buena Vista anthem 'Chan Chan' to hard-core Moroccan trance grooves straight from the dusty boxes in our archive.”-hmv.co.uk
