Nino Josele pairs up with Cuban piano master, Bill Evans to create music for PAZ. “This is jazz with a flamenco guitarist occupying the piano chair.” The sound is gentle and lulling and pulls covers over artists such as Paul Simon and Stan Getz. Mostly instrumental.

Zaman 8 & Hafez Modir released an EP called, Suryaghati.
Driving rhythms and aerophones drone a charming environment. Based in San Francisco, this world electronic duo collaborated with Iranian-American sax master Hafez Modir. All together they create, distinctive genre bending music,” Persian & Indian classical music, jazz improvisation, African rhythms, & modern dance grooves. The tracks were inspired during improv sessions, and built from those highly lit moments, or “breaks”.

Nu Monda
Cape Verde born, Manuel Lopez Andrade’s artist name is Tcheka. As a musician of traditional percussion with guitar, Tcheka works batuku rhythms into his original compositions of satirical lyrics & social commentaries. Batuku is communal song and dance based in African roots and Nu Monda features these and percussive elements from the talulu festival in the island of Fogo. Full of acoustically layered guitar and heart-felt vocals, the album is temperate for a musician born in a tropical environment.
