lassical Indian lucidity captures flamenco dream; for Indian-flamenco fusion. By combining the musical elements of improvisation and rhythm, the listener is invited to notice instrumental complements and comparisons. Sometimes the music sounds prominently Indian, at other times, flamenco. CeU
6 degrees and Starbucks Hear Music co-released CeU's first and self-titled album.
Born in Sau Paulo, Brazil, and having a musicologist for father, CeU was saturated in music appreciation from a young age. CeU translates to either “sky” or “heaven,” and her vocal abilities reflect this apparition. After traveling to N.Y., CeU began to incorporate hip-hop elements and influences from soul sisters like; Billie Holliday and Ella Fitzgerald, Lauren Hill and Erykah Badu, which you’ll hear here. Almost all tracks have a scratchy, rhythmical elements paired with her soft or sweetness of song; covers and originals.
